Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Paperflow. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Paperflow.
1. The service
Paperflow is a Mac app that turns dictated speech into structured tasks and notes. We provide both the app and the backend services that power transcription and parsing. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Paperflow. By using it, you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. Your account
You'll need an account to use Paperflow. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for all activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, tell us at support@paperflow.it.com.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Paperflow to transcribe content you don't have the right to transcribe — for example, recordings of others without their consent
- Use it for content that's illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or that violates anyone's rights
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app, except where applicable law permits
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Paperflow
- Bypass the word-count limit, create multiple accounts to avoid paying, or otherwise abuse the free tier
- Use the service in a way that violates the usage policies of our underlying providers (OpenAI, Anthropic)
- Probe, scan, or test the security of our infrastructure without prior permission
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Paperflow has a Free tier and a Pro tier.
- Free — limited to a fixed number of dictated words per calendar month. The counter resets at the start of each month.
- Pro — paid subscription. Pricing is shown on the upgrade screen in the app and may change over time. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price increase takes effect on their plan.
Pro subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Payment is processed by Stripe via Clerk Billing.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from the Settings screen in the app. After cancellation, you keep Pro features through the end of the period you've already paid for.
We don't offer refunds for partial periods. If something goes wrong — a billing error, a service outage, or a bug that prevented you from using the app — email us and we'll consider a refund or credit on a case-by-case basis.
7. Your content
Tasks, notes, and recordings you create with Paperflow ("Your Content") belong to you. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to process Your Content briefly while transcribing and parsing it — that's the only way the app works. We don't claim any other rights to Your Content.
You're responsible for backing up Your Content. Tasks and notes are stored locally on your Mac, so we cannot recover them if your device is lost, damaged, or wiped.
8. Our content
The Paperflow app, branding, design, and underlying code belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control while these terms are in effect.
9. AI output
Paperflow uses third-party AI models to transcribe and structure your dictation. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected. You're responsible for reviewing what the app produces before relying on it. Don't use Paperflow as the sole basis for decisions where errors could cause harm.
10. Disclaimers
Paperflow is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.
We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paperflow and its operators won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising out of your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to Paperflow is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US$50.
12. Termination
You can stop using Paperflow at any time by deleting your account from Settings. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we wind down the service.
If we terminate the service, we'll give reasonable notice and let you export Your Content where practical.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms over time. If changes are material, we'll notify you by email and post the updated terms here at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Paperflow after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [Your Country/State], without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [Your Country/State] for any disputes that aren't covered by mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
